Finding our place

So this morning we wandered around our newest RV Park and quite like it. It's very campy if you know what I mean... dirt, woods, kids... and we found the pool, actually there are 3 pools. Really nice and not a soul there. Perfect.

But first, we sat outside by the firepit (not lit) and just enjoyed the late morning sun. I even took a panoramic!

Panoramic of our site

Beautiful hills in our view

Not sure he can cope with the stress of it all...

Disconcerting that this requires a sign...

Cute little Cabana's with loungers surrounding the pool

Then we were off to Vicky & Bruce's for a visit and saw this statue in a field beside the road not sure what the details of it are but there were a lot of this type of statues along the route.

Our friends are staying in a swanky RV Resort, and Vicky took me for a tour around the place as it was dark last night when we finally arrived there...

Grey Stork wandering the grounds

Their park is beautifully landscaped

An empty lot

After spending a nice afternoon visiting we suggested they let us buy them supper since they had cooked for us last night. With many options around we actually chose a local place because we are still unfamiliar with the windy dark roads and didn't want to get lost or worse... so we went to a very small, very loud bar/restaurant just down the road from them. A different experience to be sure as it's a rough place to look at and the smell is... interesting, but the food was really good!!

Big thanks to Vicky & Bruce once again for a great day.

    1. Must say having people around has been a huge morale booster for us. We're actually enjoying this adventure probably for the first time since we left Canada. Only day 2 but so far so good. Apparently there are lots of places to go and things to see around here also so we look forward to that.

  4. It looks like you are having such a great time on your adventure! I wish we were going to be out west so we could meet you. I hope you'll consider doing a video for the DRIVE-Powered by You video that Mike and Patrick are working on--it would be great to see your faces and hear your story. Have a happy Thanksgiving! Safe travels always!

    1. Thanks Dawn, I read your blog about Drive this morning and haven't talked to Brad about it yet. We've got a lot on the go at the moment. Please remind me if you don't hear from me in the next few days.

  5. The horse and buggy and other metal art are the creations of Ricardo Breceda, who has his studio right on CA 79, a couple of miles west of Aguanga.

He had an event last weekend, did you happen to attend? His sculptures are also prominent in the Anza-Borrego State Park area. We're in Jojoba Hills, from your "Aguanga" tag we assume you're in Rancho California (?).

    1. Just east of you at Vail Lake at the moment but moving just the other side of you very shortly. We tried Jojoba but they didn't have a spot for us.

  6. I run to Rainbow, Temecula, Camp Pendleton Marine base on to an area North of Aguanga once a week, to check on my beehives plus feed. I love the drive and if you can stop at Rainbow only restaurant you will be pleased with the food. It is South of Tememcula.
